The last few weeks have been an exciting time in the Santerre Lab. We would like to extend our congratulations to our two recent graduates, Angus Lam and Israa Saber, for successfully defending their Master’s theses! Both graduates have reflected on their time in the lab and share with us their exciting new roles.
Angus Lam:
“It has been a privilege to complete my Master's in Biomedical Engineering with Professor Santerre and Professor Sone. I cannot thank them for their constant encouragement and guidance throughout this journey as they have guided me to become the researcher that I am today. The members in the Santerre lab are very knowledgeable in a diverse field that makes it easy for collaboration and brainstorming, something that I heavily relied on. Although my Master's ends here, I was fortunate to start a new project where I developed and assessed these novel oligomers that have multifunctional use within the biomedical field. I am excited to grow in the R&D field as a Junior Formulation Engineer at Cohesys.”
Israa Saber:
“I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to do my Master's at the Santerre Lab. The guidance, mentorship, and support given to me by Dr. Santerre and members of the lab, and the connections and friendships I made during my time at TBEP are invaluable.
I am looking forward to using the skills and experience I gained in biomaterials and biocompatibility assessment as I transition into the biomedical device industry in my new role as an Associate Scientist.”
We wish Angus and Israa the best of luck in their careers!
