A CIHR grant has been awarded to the Santerre Lab to fund the next five years (April 2020 - March 2025) of development of a tissue-engineered vascular graft. Katya and Jeremy, PhD candidates in the lab, are currently integrating electrospun polyurethane scaffolds with vascular cells derived from adipose tissue to generate the vascular prosthesis. This funding obtained from CIHR will pave the way towards its first in vivo evaluations.
